Bathroom

When we first moved in we decided that we wouldn't change anything for the first 6 months. The idea being, that because everything was perfectly livable, and after 6 months we would have a clear idea of the order and priority of things to be changed.

But of course this didn't happen!!
Only a few weeks after moving in, it was clear that we needed to change the bathroom. The shower was awful! So bad it would take 30 mins to wash shampoo out of my hair, and with a small child that was 30 mins I did not have!

The sad part of changing the bathroom is that it was probably the newest and most modern part of the house! We spent a while going over the options to see if we could get away with just taking the shower out and putting a bath/shower combo, but we figured it would end up costing more in the long run, as we would effectively end up redoing the bathroom twice.

So here's what we had to work with, sorry the pictures are so close, it's actually a very small space, so difficult to take decent pictures.

And here are the after pictures:
We went with light grey tiles on the walls to replace the existing white and green. we also decided on dark grey tiles for the flooring instead of hideous green carpet tiles. (really who carpets a bathroom!)

We replaced the shower with a small shower bath, with a rain shower! I love the rain shower!!

Quite a transformation right!? This is now my favorite room in the house.

The new house

Just before Christmas, just days after returning from holiday, we packed up our belongings and moved out of the first home we owned together, the house our baby was brought home from hospital to, it was a sad and emotional Process (I'm still blaming post pregnancy hormones).
However, I was very excited to move to the new house. This is the house that we plan to become our forever home, and I thought it would be fun to record the changes from the 1970s jazzy decor to our own personal flavour.

So here it is, in reality there is nothing actually wrong with the house it's just not the decor we would have chosen, and I have a hunch most of the carpets haven't been changed since the house was new in the 70s.

Check out that carpet!
